Exciting news – Recent graduate JUNIE EDWARDS (class of 2024) has written a play that will be receiving its world premiere this summer at Pillsbury House Theatre! It features rising SPCPA senior, DAIJA SCOTT and alum, JEREMIAH TULAY II. It runs July 18-21.
This choreopoem follows the story of 6 poet friends readying themselves for a slam poetry competition. When they take a break from rehearsing, they travel down a long and weighted path as they play a game confessing their deepest secrets and fears pertaining to the black community. This piece is an ode to the voices of the younger black generations.

Visual Art Chair, Brooks Turner, has an exhibition opening Saturday May 25th 7-10pm at Hair + Nails Gallery in Minneapolis (2222 1⁄2 E. 35th St. Minneapolis, MN 55407). His exhibition commemorates and coincides with the 90th anniversary of the 1934 Truck Drivers Strike, which was instrumental in advancing labor rights and driving fascist sympathizers out of Minnesota. The exhibition includes four tapestries, six ink drawings on handmade paper, and an installation made in collaboration with SPCPA alums Phoenix Abernathy and Colin Vatsveen. All are invited to attend the opening or stop in during gallery hours through June 30th!
