Predicted Extended Absences
Extended Planned Medical Leave or Vacation (PEA)
Students who expect to have an absence of more than three (3) days will be asked to sign a PEA contract with SPCPA outlining the responsibilities and requirements necessary to receive credit. Absences due to vacation/trips do count towards the Ten Absence Rule. Students must meet with administration to obtain approval and complete and return the contract at least two (2) weeks BEFORE the predicted absences.
Failure to complete the conditions of the contract may result in loss of credit. In addition, approval may not be granted to students earning less than 80% in coursework and/or deficient in credits required to maintain adequate progress toward meeting graduation requirements.
Extended Arts Absence (PEAA)
Students involved in an arts experience resulting in repeated absences of more than three (3) days will be asked to sign a PEAA contract with SPCPA outlining the responsibilities and requirements necessary to receive credit. All arts experiences falling in the PEAA category will be subject to verification. Students must meet with administration to obtain approval and complete and return the contract at least two (2) weeks BEFORE the predicted arts absences.
Failure to complete the conditions of the contract may result in the loss of credit. In addition, approval may not be granted to students earning less than 80% in coursework and/or deficient in credits required to maintain adequate progress toward meeting graduation requirements.
All predicted extended absence contracts (PEA and PEAA) must be picked up from the Dean of Students in the Lowry building.
