Alexander Krohnfeldt, class of 2013, had one of the leading roles in “School Night”, a film featured in the Minnesota Made Short Narratives category at this spring’s Minneapolis-St Paul International Film Festival.
Alexandra Nedved, current junior, was cast in the Guthrie Theater production of Primrose Path, to be performed April 27 – June 15, 2013. She will be an essential extra in this world premiere production directed by Roger Rees. Please visit www.guthrietheater.org for more information.

Twelfth graders Emily Doran and Kate Dudley helped organize flash mob dances for the grand opening of Abbott Northwestern’s Mother Baby Center on January 26. They choreographed three dances and taught them to staff, then brought in fellow SPCPA students Breaunna Rangitsch and Lindsey Walla to help surprise visitors and guests throughout the day.
Three SPCPA students are performing as part of Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy with Minnesota Dance Theater this holiday season. Junior Emily Kleinschmidt, freshman Marie Finley and sophomore Annie Richardson will be part of this production running December 14 – 24, 2012, at the Cowles Center. Senior Terese McCauley is performing in Steppingstone Theatre’s production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Performances run from November 30 – December 23, 2012. For more information, please visit www.steppingstonetheatre.org.
Current eleventh grader Rose Linsner will be playing the part of Mary, one of the orphanage girls, in the Stages Theater’s production of Madeline’s Christmas. The show will run from November 16 through December 27. For more details, please visit stagestheatre.org.
Three SPCPA students hold featured roles in Out on a Limb’s Nutcracker being performed for free at local area malls this holiday season. Jess Gomez, current senior, will play the Nutcracker, current eleventh grader Cara Lahti will play Clara, and freshman Madison Palmer will be the Sugar Plum Fairy. Current junior Kelly Jones is participating in the Mixed Blood Theatre’s stage reading of A Nervous Smile on September 20 and 27, at 4:00 pm. Kelly will be playing Emily, a teenager with cerebral palsy, alongside Jennifer Blagen, who plays Emily’s mother.
Juliet Paulson, current ninth grader, and Austin Stanley, current tenth grader, are a part of the Historic Mounds Theatre’s production of Guards! Guards! September 7 – 9, 14 – 17 and 21 – 23. “Based on the book, it is an epic tale featuring an ensemble cast of all ages. And a fire-breathing dragon. Junior Alexandra Nedved will be shooting two videos in September – the first is a corporate video for United Health Group and the second is a commercial video for University of Minnesota Physicians, which is scheduled to air in October. This past June, Alexandra participated in the University of Minnesota’s Stage Elements Summer Theatre Institute. This is an eleven-day theatre intensive led by distinguished U of M faculty who are professional artists from organizations including the Guthrie Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, Open Eye Figure Theatre and Penumbra Theatre.
Senior dance student Alyssa Ness is featured in the July/August issue of Dance Spirit Magazine. Alyssa was selected to be a cover model search finalist and is competing to be on the cover of the October issue.
