2012 SPCPA Board Members Selected
Thank you to everyone who submitted a 2012 SPCPA Board election ballot. The following individuals have been unanimously selected to join the Board: Maggie Bergeron (faculty representative), Nathan Herfindahl (faculty representative), Shawn Judge (parent representative), and Susan Semmler (faculty representative). These four members will officially be appointed to the Board at the January 23rd annual board meeting.

J-Term Tickets On Sale Now!
All J-Term performances require the purchase of a ticket for admission.
Proceeds from ticket sales support the work of SPCPA students in professional venues.
This year, J-Term tickets can be purchased through the ticket servicing company Brown Paper Tickets.All tickets ordered through Brown Paper Tickets cost $8.00 (students and adults). This cost includes all ticket servicing fees. All tickets are general admission. Some shows may sell out; place your order early to guarantee seating.

If tickets remain on the day of the event, you may purchase them at the site starting 45 minutes before the start of the show. The cost at the door is $10. SPCPA students can present their student IDs for $5 tickets. Sold out shows will be announced on Brown Paper Tickets and on our website at http://spcpa.org/conservatory/j-term. Seats may be available if all tickets are not claimed; we will release unclaimed tickets for purchase ten minutes before the start of each performance. We cannot guarantee seating to those wishing to purchase tickets on the day of the performance.
*When ordering tickets online or by phone, please make sure to select the correct performance, date, and time. Please note that Gianni Schicchi and Pirates of Penzance are on a double bill; Gianni Schicchi plays first and Pirates of Penzance is second with a brief intermission between the two performances. You must arrive prior to the start time listed for the event for admittance. Tickets will not be taken at intermission. You may purchase tickets for the double bill by choosing the event “SPCPA J-Term: Gianni Schicchi and Pirates of Penzance.”
October 27 & 28 Conferences
Students will be dismissed at 12:25 p.m. on both Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28 for Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Conferences will be held on Thursday from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. and on Friday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Wilkins Studios. Parents do not need to schedule a time to meet with with teachers in advance. Please arrive at a time that is convenient for you to meet with your student(s) teachers. We request parents limit their conferences with each teacher to 5 minutes. CLICK HERE to view times in which faculty members will be present at conferences.
SPCPA Evening Information Session
If you are unable to visit SPCPA during the day for the three (3) hour experience, consider attending the Information Session for prospective students and families at the Lehr Theater on December 8th from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
This is the same information presented during our prospective student and family experience, but does not include classroom observations or a tour of facilities.

Email Correspondence with SPCPA Families
In an effort to reduce costs and relay school information to families in a timely manner, we would like to take advantage of opportunities to email families information that pertains to upcoming school events in lieu of sending it through the mail. We realize that that this form of correspondence may not work for everyone and request that you reply by filling out and returning THIS FORM if email is not an option of communication for you.

October 12th Testing Schedule
Schedule for October 12th Testing (Periods 1-3, 8:00 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.)
9th Grade: 8:00 a.m. - Degrees of Reading Power (DRP) (1st Period), Arts Workshop (2nd & 3rd Periods)
10th Grade: 8:00 a.m. – PLAN (Periods 1-3)
The PLAN will give students and parents a preview of the ACT, provide a snapshot of educational readiness for college, give a list of possible careers/college majors to consider based on an interest inventory and point out academic strengths and areas students need to improve. There is no cost to families for this test. All 10th grades students in attendance on October 12th during periods 1-3 will be taking the PLAN.
11th Grade: 8:00 a.m. PSAT (Optional) (Cost: $15.00) (Periods 1-3)
Juniors that do not register and submit payment for the PSAT must report to Lowry Study Hall.
Juniors can register and submit payment to Susan Reiling in the Landmark Main Office through 4:30 p.m. on October 10th. Sample questions and information about the National Merit Scholarship Competition will be given to students when they register. For more information go to www.collegeboard.com/psat.
12th Grade – Late Start – 12:45 p.m. (4th & 5th Periods ONLY on Oct 12th)
Seniors arriving on campus before 12:05 p.m. will be permitted to utilize the Lowry Study Hall for silent, individual work. Seniors are not permitted to be in locations other than the Lowry Study Hall during testing.
First Day of School
The first day of school for SPCPA students is Monday, August 29th. Monday is an A day. Students should pick up a revised color copy of their schedule from the Landmark Cortile (first floor) before the start of their first period classes. They should attend the classes listed on the revised color copy of the schedule. If a student still wishes to make a schedule change, he or she should fill out a schedule response form and submit it to the Landmark school office during passing time between classes, during the lunch period, or after fifth period.

Graduation will take place on Wednesday, May 25th at 7:00 p.m. at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts which is located at 345 Washington Street, St. Paul 55102.
Tickets are required.
