The Jana Nyberg Group
Instrumental Faculty member Jana Meckler will be performing with The Jana Nyberg Group on June 16, at 2:00 pm, at Hayden Heights Library as part of the Twin Cities Jazz Festival. The group will also perform at the Red Stag in Minneapolis on July 11th at 10 p.m. and Hell’s Kitchen in Minneapolis on August 25th at 6:00 p.m. In addition, they have two Door County, Wisconsin tours later this summer. “Security” in San Francisco
Dance faculty member Angharad Davies has been invited to teach Modern dance classes at Zenon Dance on Saturdays from June 9 – September 1. Additionally, she will travel in late June to San Francisco where her Sage Award-nominated piece “Security” will be presented by the Walking Distance Dance Festival at ODC. Abdo Sayegh for TU Dance Center
Dance faculty member Abdo Sayegh will be teaching open ballet classes at TU Dance Center in June and July, and then for the TU Dance Summer Intensive from July 30 – August 17, alongside TU Dance Artistic Directors Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands, as well as teaching artists Laurel Keen, Kenna-Camara Cottman, Peggy Seipp-Roy, and others. Nathan Herfindahl in Concert
Vocal Department Chair Nathan Herfindahl will perform “Nathan Herfindahl in Concert” during the Bay Days Festival on July 13 at the William Kelley Auditorium in Silver Bay, MN. In addition, he will perform during the Duluth Festival Opera Dinner Concert held at Nokomis on the Lake on August 9, as well as “A Night at the Opera” at the Fregeau Auditorium on on August 16, and “Opera’s Greatest Hits” at the Bayfront Festival Park on Augsut 19.

Theatre L’homme Dieu
Theatre faculty member Sara Schwabe will be working as the Marketing Manager for Theatre L’homme Dieu in Alexandria, MN, as well as continuing development of an original ensemble piece based on the lives of the Harvey Girls.

Four Humors Theater Company and Live Action Set
Theatre faculty member Dario Tangelson directed two projects which will both be opening the last week of June. “Bombus and Berylline or the Bumblebee and the Hummingbird,” a family-friendly show by Four Humors Theater Company, will run at Gremlin Theater June 24 – July 7. “Ballad Nocturne” Reviewed
Instrumental faculty member Ann Millikan‘s orchestral album has been reviewed on the following site: www.innova.mu/albums/ann-millikan/ballad-nocturne. Ann also premiered the opera Swede Hollow on June 2, in Swede Hollow Park in St Paul. In addition, she will be traveling to Brazil this summer to compose a new work for ABSTRAI Ensemble. Dial M for Murder

Vocal chair Nathan Herfindahl has two upcoming performances: On March 11th, he will perform in “Opera Cabaret: A Tribute to Great American Singers of the Past” with the Duluth Festival Opera in Duluth, Minnesota. On April 14th, Nathan Herfindahl will be performing Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem with the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra in Houghton, Michigan.

Dance instructor Jill Lile attended the Dance Medicine for Dance Educators Workshop in Washington D.C. in January. The two-day workshop addressed the most up-to-date information from medical journals about the physical and psychological health and well-being of dance students.
