Attendance Hotline

SPCPA Attendance Policy

Daily attendance is critical to academic and artistic engagement, development, and achievement.  Frequent absences limit an individual student’s performance and can also have an impact on the learning of others.  School staff, students, families, and the community share responsibility for student attendance.  To ensure student safety and accountability, families have the responsibility for notifying the school about their students’ attendance.

SPCPA Attendance Hotline  (651) 222-3200

Attendance will be taken in the 1st 10 minutes of each period.

A parent/guardian must report all absences by calling the school attendance line at (651) 222-3200 by 9:00 AM the day of the absence.

Please include the following information when reporting an absence:

  1. Name and relationship to student
  2. Name of student and grade level
  3. State day (Monday-Friday) and date(s) of the absence
  4. Reason for absence
  5. Provide a phone number for verification of absence

A signed handwritten note will also be accepted from a parent/guardian and must be turned into the attendance desk at the appropriate building prior to the start of the school day following an absence.  Absences not reported within this time frame will not be excused.

School staff will contact families who did not report absences.

Excused absences may include illness, doctor’s appointments, religious holiday, extreme family emergencies, sanctioned arts, and college visits/fairs.

Any absence reported that does not fall under the excused absence descriptions will be counted as an unexcused absence.
