In accordance with the Minnesota High School English/Language Arts Standards, the SPCPA English Department engages students in the interpretation and creation of meaning through language.  Students interact with texts using critical and rhetorical analysis, taking into account social and historical perspectives.  They approach reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking as integrated skills in their study of poetry, non-fiction, drama, and prose.  Upon graduation, students are prepared to enter their post-secondary lives as communicative and insightful citizens and leaders.
